How Takeeto handles study data and supporting services.

2. Overview

Takeeto is a Spanish-learning app for iPhone. It uses structured sessions, notifications, lock-screen surfaces, pronunciation playback, Verb Yourself review, progress milestones, optional custom item import, and optional subscription features.

We try to collect as little personal information as practical while operating the app and supporting services.

3. Information Stored On Your Device

Takeeto stores study data locally on your device. This may include session setups, saved decks, generated session decks, learning progress, session history, user-added custom items, badge progress, app preferences, notification preferences, and a locally generated random device identifier.

4. Information You May Choose To Add

You may add your own learning items by typing, pasting, or importing text from a photo. Custom items you save are stored locally on your device as part of your study library.

5. Permissions We Request

  • Notifications: used so active study sessions can continue when the app is in the background.
  • Camera: used only if you choose the photo-based item import flow.
  • Photo Library: used only if you choose to import text from an image.

6. Photo Text Extraction

When you import text from a photo, Takeeto uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to recognize text when available. The current OCR flow is designed to run locally on your device.

7. Lock Screen Widgets, Live Activities, And Shared App Storage

If you use Takeeto's lock-screen or Live Activity features, the app stores a small study snapshot in an Apple app-group container shared between the main app and its extension surfaces.

8. Network Requests And Third-Party Services

Takeeto uses limited network requests for media and app support features.

  • Pronunciation audio: the app may fetch an audio manifest and audio files from a developer-controlled DigitalOcean Spaces endpoint.
  • Remote configuration and messaging: the app may talk to a developer-operated control plane hosted at https://control.eruditeintelligence.com.
  • App Store services: purchases, subscriptions, and payment management are handled by Apple.

9. Remote Configuration And Optional Usage Events

The control plane may deliver feature flags, content visibility, behavior defaults, notification copy, announcement cards, and offer or paywall copy. When telemetry is enabled in the active app configuration, the app may send product-usage events such as app open, app backgrounded, session start, and session end with limited event context.

We use this information to operate the app and improve the product. We do not use it for third-party advertising.

10. Badge Sharing

Takeeto can generate share cards for earned milestones. The image is rendered locally and is only sent elsewhere if you choose a destination through the platform share sheet.

11. Subscriptions And Payments

Takeeto may offer optional auto-renewable subscriptions through Apple's App Store billing system. Purchases are processed by Apple, not directly by us.

12. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. In the current version, direct third-party or hosted-service interactions are limited to Apple, hosted pronunciation audio, and the developer-operated control-plane service.

13. Your Choices

  • decline notification, camera, or photo-library permission
  • avoid photo-based import
  • avoid sharing badge cards
  • delete custom items you added
  • reset your learning data in the app
  • uninstall the app
